Quality assured manufacturing

Quality assurance is the foundation of both manufacturing sites, with stringent quality control checks and balances at every step, helping to achieve right-first-time manufacturing rates of 97%. We use analytical testing and QA procedures to monitor our raw materials so we can precisely control our formulations. Process controlled operations recognise the equal importance of both the ink formulation and the production process, and we design control measures for every aspect of manufacture to ensure consistency. Quality control processes are used to confirm that key technical parameters are within specification. This adherence to quality assurance ensures consistent production of stable and reliable Sericol products batch-to-batch.

Between the sites we have a wide range of accreditations and certifications, including ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental) and ISO 45001 (health and safety).

Responsible production

With a business-wide commitment to sustainability, Fujifilm has invested in technologies to minimise the environmental impact of its ink production. For example, the Sericol product manufacturing facility in the UK has a zero to landfill policy for packaging and production waste, and ‘waste’ heat energy from production processes and compressed air generation is used to provide 70% of the heating. Additionally, a field of solar photovoltaic panels produce electricity to reduce reliance on external energy sources.
